Menuism Featured Reviewer: RJones

Menuism reviewers are truly awesome! Whether they found an unexpected tasty gem of a restaurant or took it for the team after having a terrible meal, we truly applaud all their efforts in giving us the scoop on where we should be spending our hard-earned money on. On that note, I’d love to introduce you to those reviewers who we feel really contribute quality content to the site as well as quality information to fellow Menuism’ers. Our Featured Reviewer today is Robin, better known as RJones. So let’s learn more about Robin from Pennsylvania.

newfeaturedreviewerrjonesIntroduction

I’m originally from California, I came to Pennsylvania for college and decided to stay. I love this area, but I sure miss all the great Mexican food from Southern California! I’ve been a vegetarian for 7 years, but I”m not too picky about it. Mostly it has opened me up to all the great grains and vegetables and seasonings I had never tried before. There is so much tasty food out there!

1. How did you find out about Menuism?

I found Menuism as an application on Facebook.

2. What about Menuism first appealed to you?

Going out to eat can be a frustrating experiance as a vegetarian, I really rely on word of mouth to know what places are friendly and accomodating to special diets. Since I haven’t been in the area long, Menuism really helped me out finding great places to have a fantastic dining out experience. It’s too easy to fall into a routine of always going back to the same place where you know the menu and exactly what to order.

3. What restaurant did you write your first review about?

Bucca di Beppo, I had never been to another resturant like it, even though it’s a chain resturant it’s a unique experiance!

4. What is your food philosophy?

Food has to be worth the calories you intake with it, if it’s not good enough, don’t eat it! Many mediocre desserts have been left behind. Food is such a fundamental part of culture, I love going out to an ethnic resturant and trying something I’ve never had before.

5. What are your favorite restaurants?

Apollo Grille has been my favorite restaurant since I first went, great food, great service, good atmosphere, and amazing desserts. It’s perfect for a casual lunch or a romantic date. Vegan Treats, which is more like a bakery, but everything they do is fantastic. It’s worth stopping into their store just to take a look at every delectable item on display.

6. What are your favorite cuisines?

Indian, Thai, Mexican, they love spices and vegetables. Everytime I walk into one of these resturants the smell makes my mouth water.

7. What are your favorite comfort foods?

Peanut butter & Nutella sandwich on toasted multigrain bread, or maybe pancakes.

8. What is the best meal you ever ate and why?

That would have to be every Thanksgiving as a child, with all the extended family gathered around the table having a good time.

9. Do you have any favorite cookbooks (if any)?

I use the internet as my cookbook, it’s so easy to find great info online.

10. What words of encouragement would you give to first time Menuism reviewers?

Let others know about the great places you love, so they will stay in business forever, and maybe even add another location.

You need ATS because Las Vegas, Off-Shore Sports Books and On-Line Casinos are dominating you. Statistics indicate only 19% of self-advised bettors will win on any given weekend. This percentage drastically drops throughout the course of a sports season. Many try repeatedly to win on their own terms and simply lose again and again. The only reliable method to winning in sports gaming is to have access to all the information available. This information is virtually unattainable to the general public, who simply do not have the resources to gather it. ATS does.
