August Menuism Restaurant Review Contest

The August heat is definitely upon us, but that doesn’t mean that we’ve lost our appetite for good food. Maybe, it’s just time for lighter fare like salads, sandwiches and of course, visiting your local ice cream shops is definitely a must. With this sunny weather, it’s also time for patio dining albeit under some shade, but nonetheless, there’s always good eats to be had regardless of the weather. So check out that new restaurant you’ve always wanted to dine at or re-visit old favorites. Afterwards, put fingers to keyboard and tell us all about that restaurant, from meal to ambiance to service because it’s now time for the August Menuism Restaurant Review Contest.
Now there’s even more chances to win with both 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes that are available. The criteria for winning entries will be on how helpful other Menuism’ers find your reviews to be. So what makes a review helpful? Check out a past Menuism article called 5 Tips Towards Writing a Great Review for some ideas or you can even emulate some of our Featured Reviewers, who have done a fantastic job sharing their dining stories with all of us.
In the end, it’s all about quality, not quantity. So how can you improve your chances? Things to do could include giving dish reviews and uploading pictures and when combined with your informative review, those will definitely get you those “helpful votes.” You can even encourage friends to sign up to Menuism.com and vote for your reviews or even contribute some of their own.
Now it’s time to get out, dine out and than get your fingers a-typing. With a total of $170.00 in prize money, think of what you can do with any part of those dollars Enjoy a Sunday brunch. Purchase a lovely bottle of wine. Get that new kitchen gadget you’ve been eyeing. You won’t have a chance of winning, if you don’t even try, so let’s see what you got.

How to Enter:
- Dine out and than post your restaurant review to the Menuism website. There are no limits to the number of reviews per month. No need to manually submit your reviews to the contest
Restaurant Review Criteria:
- Winners will be decided based on the number of helpful votes for the reviews they’ve written in the given month with awards going to the top 3 users with the most helpful votes. - Reviews must have 50 words or more to qualify.
Announcement of Winner and Prize:
- After the contest due date, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Winners will be announced the first week of the following month.
- PRIZES:
- 1st: $100
- 2nd: $50
- 3rd: $20
- Profile Badge for Each Winner!
Rules:
- Reviews that are considered inappropriate, vulgar or lacking information will not be considered.
- Winners who do not claim their prize within 7 days of the announcement of the winner will forfeit prize money, but not the award.

We went to Apple Bee’s yesterday, after church services. They have this Special..2 for $20, so we tried it. There were a list of things you COULD order. We ordered the 6 oz. steak and you get one appetizer with that, so we had the mozzarella fingers.
We rarely order an appetizer so this was a treat, and they were very good. When the meal came we were pleased to cut into that steak and find it medium rare, as we’d ordered, and the knife slipped through it so easily. It was VERY tender, VERY delicious.
We chose mashed potatoes, instead of baked, and we took cole slaw instead of veggies. There was certainly plenty to eat, and all of it was tasty. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and try a different entree, just to compare.

We went to the Waterside Grille on River Road in Chesterfield County. It’s located at the Seven Springs Marina, and is such a lovely place. It’s all been redone recently, and the decor is very romantic. The food is fabulous. The service is excellent. The view of Lake Chesdin is so lovely, and you can watch boats going in and out.

I was treated out to Olive Garden last night by my husband. I had the best time I have ever had going with him, the service was great. The food was even better since they brought back the unlimited pasta bowl I wanted to go back. I love pasta and If i had to I would live off of pasta. The restuarant is located in Brandon, Fl. The music was great and the lighting was so romantic. The best thing was that my husbands tea glass was never empty.

Last week I went to Rib Crib and the food was was really great but a little over priced.

I have a great Taco place near me called Arturo’s Puffy Taco. They have the best tacos in town with ground beef, onion,potatoe, lettuce and cheese, salsa optional. Oh my!

We went to O’Charlie’s Restaurant last week and it was a wonderful experience. The waitpersons were so gracious and friendly. That’ s ALWAYS a good start. And they have this special 2 for $14.95. The choices were great, and the food, when served, was not only appetizing looking, but tasted terrific. We go there often because of their friendliness and their delicious food. TRY IT! You’ll LIKE IT!
